Velocity Micro Shine projector, ProMagix HD6000, VMUltra Drive unveiled

Amongst the wide variety of devices that are announced to launch at CES 2012 are the Velocity Micro Shine projector, ProMagix HD6000 workstation and VMUltra Drive. The compact Shine provides 1280 x 768p WXGA HD native resolution and boasts of a 300 lumen display which is said to offer brighter image quality as opposed to traditional pico projectors.

This freshly disclosed projector employs DLP technology and features a throw ratio of 1.4:1 so that a larger than life image can be seen clearly even in a small room. It comes incorporated with a 0.45-inch TI DLP imaging chip powered by SCRAM optical engine technology.

The VMUltra Drive is believed to be apt for those who are constantly on the move as it can serve as an external optical drive as well as a USB hub and a 500GB back-up storage solution. Equipped with full plug and play support, it connects through the USB port to any notebook, desktop or Ultrabook and is integrated with an SD card reader.

The Xeon powered ProMagix HD6000 workstation offers quad SLI support and boasts of an Asus X79WS motherboard. Operating on a 15MB Intel Xeon E5-2620 Hexa Core, multi-threaded, cache processor, it is integrated with various features such as Nvidia Quadro 4000 graphics, 1TB 7200 RPM storage drive, 120GB SSD and 32GB DDR3-1600 RAM.

While the Velocity Micro Shine projector comes for a price tagged at less than $400 (approx. Rs. 21,190), the ProMagix HD6000 workstation and VMUltra Drive are priced at under $3,500 (approx. Rs. 185,435) and $180 (approx. Rs.9,535 ), respectively.
