LG flashes Art Cinema DP1 Wi-Fi multimedia player and two 3D HDTVs

These latest offerings could be teamed up to transform living rooms into complete entertainment hubs. Akihabara News has reported about LG introducing new variants to its range of home entertainment systems that include the Wi-Fi enabled Art Cinema DP1 player as well as the 50” 50PX950 and 60” 60PX950 full HD 3D TVs.

Speaking of the Art Cinema DP1, the multimedia player is designed to work with an average Wi-Fi ready DivX box. It provides access to a host of content available on the web that includes Picasa, AccuWeather and YouTube. Users can play videos in DviX, MPEG4, WMV9, H.264, AVC and MJpeg formats with this player.

An array of audio and image formats like MP3, WMV, AAC, FLAC, DTS, WMA, OGG, AC3, AIF and MPEG are supported by the unit. This gadget allows owners to browse through the web on their TVs. Additionally, the built-in USB 2.0 port enables users to access content stored on their PCs, network, NAS or a USB drive.

LG has also brought in 50” and 60” variants of the 3D HDTVs that are attributed with 600MHz PDP panels. Offering viewers a wide view angle, the displays integrate True Black filter and come with network connectivity and DLNA support. Users are also allowed access to various websites like YouTube, Picasa and more through the devices.

Although pricing and availability details of the DP1 Wi-Fi player are still under wraps, the 50PX950 3D PDP HDTV will be available for $2500 (approx. Rs. 1,15,540). The high-end 60PX950 version is expected to be priced at $4200 (approx. Rs. 1,94,120). The HDTVs will be released in the Korean market.
