After the successful launch of the SL80 and the SL90 series HDTVs last month, LG is now gearing up to introduce its 15-inch AMOLED TV screen. The company plans to unveil this screen at the Berlin Trade fair in September. The released images of this TV screen has got our hopes high.
The Active Matrix OLED display is considered to be a next generation display and is believed to be a replacement to flat panel displays. The main feature of the OLED panels is their energy efficiency. These displays consume less energy as compared to LCDs that require backlight units. In the coming years, these displays are expected to be fairly common as computer screens. It is also speculated that LG is planning to display a 40-inch OLED panel in the near future.
Apparently, this AMOLED TV screen will initially be launched in Korea this November. The pricing details of this phone are still under wraps. But the looks of this OLED TV screen indicate that it will be luxuriously priced. Let’s just hope that the TV is released outside Korea soon.
