Hitachi Logo On Thursday Hitachi announced to launch its Ultra Thin Series of LCD televisions in the Indian market.

The newly launched high end LCD TV range measures only 35 mm across the entire panel. That means they are 70 percent thinner than the existing LCD televisions. Hitachi claims to deliver the slimmest LCD TVs to the Indian customers.

The range of Hitachi Ultra Thin LCD TV Series comprises of 32-inch, 37-inch and 42-inch categories.

The 32-inch Ultra Thin LCD weighs approximately 10.9 kgs and has a 360 degree aesthetic appeal. The TV will be available in four colors, namely black, red, white and blue.

Also Hitachi introduced a Full HD range that includes 50-inch plasma television, a 42-inch LCD television and 37-inch LCD television. By the end of the year a 60-inch plasma television will also be added to the list.

“Focusing on slimness rather than largeness in terms of innovation in the LCD space offers many benefits to a customer. While few customers will be able to afford very large LCD screen sizes, the benefits of slim flat panel displays can be enjoyed by more. Moreover, with enhanced slimness come the possibilities of enhanced portability, less power consumption as well as sleeker looks,” said HHES Managing Director, Tadashi Nishiuchi.

Hitachi’s new Ultra Thin Series will be available in the Indian market by early 2008.
