Panasonic has officially announced the availability of the TH-42PZ700U model, the first 1080p 42-inch Plasma HDTV.
The 42-inch 1080p model is part of Panasonic’s 700 Series line, which includes 50-inch, 58-inch, 65-inch and 103-inch models. The 1030-inch model will be the world’s largest 1080p Plasma HDTV.
According to Dennis Eppel, Vice President, Panasonic Display Company, “This year’s buzz word with consumers looking for flat panel HDTVs is most definitely 1080p. We listened to our consumers and they want choices when it comes to 1080p. The arrival of our 42-inch 1080p model gives consumers what they want; the widest range of 1080p screen sizes combined with the undeniable power of Panasonic Plasma.â€

The company states that those who purchase the Panasonic Plasma TVs will be offered a membership to the Plasma Concierge customer-support service.
The shipment of the Panasonic TH-42PZ700U 1080p 42-inch Plasma HDTV will begin from July at $2,499 (approx. Rs. 101,734).
