Following the Epic and Red One with a new product after much waiting, Red has now officially given out specific details about the much anticipated Red Scarlet-X camera, including the price and possible release date. Also, the Scarlet-X is now available for pre-ordering.

The Red Scarlet-X camera offers burst modes up to 12fps at a resolution of 5K. Also, it can capture moving pictures at 4K resolution with a speed ranging from 1fps to 3fps. The device is designed to capture motion pictures as well as still images simultaneously.

“The future is dependent on those who push… not those who react,” said Jim Jannard, founder of RED Digital Cinema.

The gadget is accompanied by either a Canon EF or PL mount. Using Scarlet-X’s interchangeable lens mount system, these can be effortlessly swapped as well. Users have an option of employing Panavision, Anamorphic, and Nikon lenses with this gadget, all of which are easily compatible with it.

Additionally, the inclusion of HRDx helps the camera reach approximately 18 stops of dynamic range. This aids in projecting the images closer to the naked eye than usual. With the use of 5K REDCODE RAW for stills and capturing of 4K motion footage, this device produces files that are easy to grade as well as finish.

The Red camera is available in mount variations like AI Canon, Ti PL, and Ti Canon. The Ti-PL as well as the Ti Canon options are available at $11,250 (approx. Rs. 5,51,550), while the AI Canon variety of the Red Scarlet-X price label reads $9,750 (approx. Rs. 4,77,993). Fans can pre-order this device from the official Red website, which estimates the probable release date to be December 1.
