New Apple TV apparently plays 1080p content from iTunes

Apple TV Apple admirers who seem be unhappy with the resolution limit up to only 720p in the new version of the Apple TV can now ease off. According to Engadget, the Apple multimedia device is capable of playing 1080p content from iTunes though it cannot output more than 720p content.

The website is said to have run some tests by streaming 1080p movie trailers in iTunes. The device ostensibly then downscales the image back to 720p while displaying the same content. To notify, the previous Apple TV played 1080p videos. If the news is true to the fullest, owners who have a host of 1080p videos needn’t worry about converting their content for playing it through the Apple device.

In the future, let’s hope the company will include the output of high resolution content in its Apple TV. Until then, users can seemingly enjoy streaming of 1080p videos through iTunes.
