The Onkyo HT-S3500 5.1 and HT-S5500 7.1 channel home theater systems are leading the way for other products that are to be released in the year 2012 by the company. Both entry-level offerings are bestowed with an audio-video receiver each as well as a set of speakers to deliver an improved acoustic experience.
The affordable 5.1 home theater claims to render an improved audio performance, while the 7.1 channel system meant for larger rooms, boasts of an upgraded speaker package and an Audyssey 2EQ room acoustic correction system. The former packs in the HT-R391 A/V receiver along with 2 bass-reflex front speakers, another bass-reflex center speaker and 2 satellite surrounds. Also included is a subwoofer featuring an 8-inch down-firing cone. The Dolby Pro Logic IIz of the HT-S5500 assists with expanding the audio source with up to 2 front height channels.
The two-way front speakers of the Onkyo HT-S5500 7.1 channel are integrated with a 5-inch OMF diaphragm woofer and a balanced-dome tweeter. The center speaker with twin cone woofers and a tweeter is packaged along with four bass reflex satellite speakers employing a single driver. The duo dons four HDMI outputs each, extending support to Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio decoding along with onscreen display. The USB ports situated on the front panels of these systems simplifies establishing connections with mobile devices or flash drives.
Accompanied by remote controls, they are also incorporated with the company’s onboard advanced music optimizers. The A/V receivers utilized in these home theater systems are deployed with WRAT in addition to TI Burr-Brown 192 kHz/24-bit DACs, DSP processing chips and amplifier chips, amongst others. Additionally, the easy-to-install speakers ensure stress-free operation, says the company.
The Onkyo HT-S3500 5.1 channel and HT-S5500 7.1 channel home theater systems price details are tagged at $399 (approx. Rs. 19,660) and $649 (approx. Rs. 31,975), correspondingly. They will be available starting next month.
