The CES 2012 which is just round the corner, is all set to witness the launch of the LG Google TV. Fans of the Android OS may soon be able to bring in a home entertainment option which blends in LG 3D and Smart TV technologies within the Google TV.

The user interface will be based on the Android OS platform developed by Google, which the users can manage with a Magic Remote Qwerty by LG. Endowed with capabilities like social networking, search, and other TV functions, the new gadget allows multi-tasking on the big screen, right from the confines of the living room.

“LG has constantly strived to provide consumers with wider choices in home entertainment that bring the highest level of sophistication and convenience,” commented Havis Kwon, President and CEO of the LG Electronics Home Entertainment Company. “Through Google TV, LG has merged Google’s established Android operating system with LG’s proven 3D and Smart TV technologies, offering consumers a new and enthralling TV experience.”

The offering in question comes with Cinema 3D glasses which are equipped with FPR technology. The glasses happen to be lightweight and battery-free. The TV is also embedded with Cinema 3D technology to offer a convenient and comfortable viewing experience. By means of an integrated 2D to 3D conversion engine, the device transforms content with a single click of the remote. This enables a large audience to enjoy the desired content in complete 3D on a wider screen.

The LG Google TV release date and price details are being kept under wraps.
