Back in 2009, Western Digital unraveled its stylish media player for home entertainment dubbed WD TV Live. The company has recently added several features and social sites to its WD TV media player family. Users can now connect with their friends and family via Facebook while enjoying multimedia content on the latest WD TV Live and WD TV Live Plus.
Consumers are enabled with capability to upload some photos and videos, share their status or view their wall among all other entertainment choices. For owners residing in the U.S., the devices allow purchasing or renting of latest movie releases through Blockbuster OnDemand service.

Delivering full HD 1080p video playback, the WD TV Live Plus supports DVD navigation as well as all media files. Users can access their multimedia content from anywhere on their home network since the model is Wi-Fi ready. Simultaneous playback of media files from various USB drives is also made possible.
The Live and the Live Plus come with HDMI 1.3 input, composite video and component video output, and SPDIF digital output for further ease. These models include support for Deezer music service and Flingo Internet television service. Moreover, support for AccuWeather forecasting service and wireless USB keyboard is bundled in.
The WD TV Live is now available worldwide, while the WD TV Live Plus is presently available in the U.S. and Canada. Users can snap up any of these media players through multiple retailers and the company’s official website for $129.99 (approx Rs. 5,960).
