Samsung has announced the availability of the fourth-generation Blu-ray player and a stylish home theater audio system. The BD-P1500 Blu-ray player and T-AS720 Home Theater system are the latest products offering exceptional functionality, compact design and remarkable viewing quality.
The BD-P1500 can play Blu-ray, DVDs or CDs while relaxing at home. It is also capable of upconverting standard DVDs to 720p, 1080i and 1080p resolutions and delivers Full HD video playback with a crystal-clear picture. You can connect the player to other devices with the help of an HDMI 1.3 port with CEC that offers expanded color delivery and easy home theater control.
In addition, the latest Blu-ray player comes with BD Profile 1.1 Bonus View and is BD Live Ready, an integrated Ethernet connection and USB input. Consumers have the opportunity to upgrade the device with the latest firmware to continue the cutting edge of Blu-ray technology with the latest features. Samsung has taken a step further from Dolby Digital audio playback and incorporates Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TruHD and DTS-HD High resolution.
In the HT-AS720 5.1 channel receiver / speaker system, features such as Dolby Digital Plus Dolby True HD and DTS HD, 1080p, soft blue LED accents, HDMI input and output, fully powered subwoofer and accentuated by six satellite speakers are included.
Priced at $549 (approx. Rs. 21,960), the HT-AS720 home theater audio system is currently available in the market, whereas the BD-P1500 Blu-ray Player is slated to roll out in June 2008. However, the price of the Blu-ray player is not known.
