Logitech Z Cinéma Surround Sound System Launched at CES

Logitech Z Cinéma Surround Sound System

Logitech has announced the launch of its Z Cinéma Advanced Surround Sound System at CES. The new sound system accurately reproduces dialogue, symphonic film soundtracks, explosive gaming audio and subtle ambient sound.

The sound system includes two satellite speakers and a subwoofer, SRS TruSurround HD. The 180-watt (RMS) Z Cinéma speaker system is powered by a premium three-amplifier design with a digital crossover equalizer. Thanks to its hybrid Class D and Class AB amplifiers, the system is able to reproduce high-, mid- and low-range frequencies.

A pure 24-bit digital audio signal along with data transportation with minimal distortion is achieved thanks to a single USB cable. The Z Cinéma speakers system also features a 3.5 mm auxiliary input that can connect to MP3 players or other audio devices.

That’s not it. The Z Cinéma includes a powerful Media Center remote delivering remote access for the PC-entertainment experience. The remote also has dedicated Windows Media Center button. It even has a convenient scroll wheel that allows users to navigate quickly through TV shows, video clips, Internet radio, albums, artists and any other type of digital media.

“Although people are trying to enjoy film, TV and music on their PC, many of them are dissatisfied with the complexity of surround sound speakers for the PC today,” said Tim Leehane, director of product marketing for Logitech’s Audio business unit. “The Logitech Z Cinéma speaker system is for every person who wants outstanding audio quality and a surround sound experience from their PC, but doesn’t want the hassle of setting up rear speakers. The difference is dramatic. We’re very confident that people will enjoy this product.”

The Logitech Z Cinéma will be available in the US market from January 2008 at the price of $299.99 (approx Rs. 11,750).
