Sharp AQUOS Hi-vision Recorder Unveiled

Sharp AQUOS Hi-vision Recorder

Immediately after the release of Sharp AQUOS G Series LCD TVs, Sharp Japan has now introduced five new AQUOS DVR units.

At the head of the pack are the ACW72, ACW75 and ACW80, which are distinguished mainly by having two digital tuners for HD, as well as an analog tuner for SD. Media can also be recorded off from DVD discs. Further more, the same can be done with Blu-Ray too, though this may require an i.LINK connection to Sharp’s BD-HP1 drive.

The ACW72, ACW75 and ACW80 also have HDMI output and USB photo transfer and they incorporate some of the highest capacities such as 250GB, 500GB and 1TB respectively. Besides, the three Sharp DVR units are equipped with an improved program guide that should be simpler to use. The on-the-fly recording on all three units can be started in just 0.8 seconds. Isn’t it unbelievable? The ACW72, ACW75 and ACW80 units should be available for Japanese buyers on August 21.

The other two DVRs launched by Sharp are the AC72 and AC75. These DVR systems are equipped with one digital tuner, and they do not have photo support. The AC 72 holds 250GB while the AC 75 carries memory of 500GB. These two are expected to arrive in the Japanese market by September 10.
