Atlantic Technology has announced its extension of its popular system 6200 home theater system line, called THX-Ultra2 Home Theater Speaker System. The enhancement includes improved cabinets, pared configuration options, and lower prices, while adding THX-Ultra2 certification. It comes with optional side panels and pedestal subwoofers and provides a variety of more flexible configuration options, which is appropriate to any home theater or multichannel audio installation.
The latest system delivers much of the industry-leading performance of Atlantic’s flagship System 8200e speaker line in a smaller form factor and at a lower price point. Now, the features of the 6200e LR and 6200e C speakers include permanent attached side panels in a satin black finish, removing the confusion in stocking ad selling the previously optional cabinet panels. Moreover, the system replaces the original pedestal subwoofers by the company’s more traditional box-style THX Certified 642e SB subwoofers.
Atlantic Technology Director of Marketing, Steve Feinstein remarks, “This system is a classic Atlantic Technology evolution: better looks, better performance, at a lower price. The redesign has actually exceeded even our high expectations, and the new system looks better, is easier to specify and install, and costs less than the already-impressive original 6200 line. On top of all that, the LR and center channel speakers achieve a level of performance that meets THX’s elite Ultra2 performance standards – the highest certification level available for a multichannel speaker system.”
The system 6200e LR’s floor-standing loudspeaker and 6200 C horizontal center channel speakers are designed each two-way as they are preferably timbre-matched for a coherent, seamless sound stage. Each speaker delivers a sophisticated set of acoustic controls to tune performance for a variety of rooms and placement options.
Additionally, it includes High Frequency Energy adjustment for acoustically bright or dull rooms, a Location control to compensate for the acoustic effects of a pull-down screen, and a Boundary Compensation toggle that adjusts speaker output to compensate for placement near a wall or within a cabinet.
Designed to incorporate ideally with Atlantic’s THX Certified system 4200e dipole surround speakers, the Atlantic Technology System 6200e provides a completely convincing surround field.
The Atlantic Technology 6200e THX-Ultra2 Home Theater Speaker System is available in several configurations, with retail price starting at $6,500 for a 5.1-channel system.
