Panasonic AG-AC90

With a 2.19MP HD 3-MOS sensor and a 12x zoom lens, the Panasonic AG-AC90 camcorder claims to redefine what’s available to professionals in this market. Along with a high-sensitivity of 1/4.7”, it is capable of recording videos in standard definition, 1080/60p, 30p, 24p and 60i.

The device sports a 12x zoom lens that comes with three separate adjustable rings to give a wide angle view ranging between 29.8mm to 357.6mm. To minimize ghosting and flares, it is equipped with the company’s Nano Surface Lens Coating. Users can take advantage of the two SD memory cards that the device supports for recording videos to each simultaneously. There is also a five-axis image stabilizer which prevents blurring due to hand movements.

Apart from 4x pixel shifting technology, the Panasonic camcorder offers an iA Zoom 25 super-resolution that automatically tweaks the color gradation, edge and finer points. It comes with the PS, the PH, the HE and the fresh AVCCAM HD recording modes which capture videos at different speeds. The company has even included an HDMI and an USB 2.0 port, together with a multi-AV output, two RCA audio outputs and an integrated stereo microphone.

Users can download the free AVCCAM Importer software in order to avoid the need of converting AVCHD files to ProRES422 before sending it to Final Cut Pro for editing. To enhance the overall sound quality, the device captures audio via two channels powered by Dolby Digital. Along with a widescreen LCOS color viewfinder, the gadget provides a 3.5-inch LCD display which swivels up to 270 degrees for users to view content from all angles.

The Panasonic AG-AC90 price is marked at $2,250 (approx. Rs. 125,300) and it will be up for grabs by the end of this year.
