Logic Instrument is all set to introduce a new offering into the rugged device market. The company unleashes a highly configurable full Windows handheld computer known as the FieldBook. The environmentally protected device features 15 different configurations of expansion slots and I/O ports.

The product is specially fashioned for demanding applications and even survives up to 4’ drops. The handheld computer has the ability to work in extreme conditions such as -20C to +50C in rain or dust-storms. Users can espy a -20C to +50C in rain or dust-storms complete with high resolution resistive glovetouch screen. The FieldBook also houses a G-Sensor protected 120GB HDD and a 1.6GHz Atom CPU with 2GB RAM.

Customers are spoiled for choice as they are treated to a plethora of installed capabilities such as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, camera, GPS, USB, Ethernet, RS232, Barcode, RFID, ExpressCard or mini-PCI Express slots and PCMCIA. There are many optional capabilities offered by the company like RS485, RS422, MIL-STD-1553, CANbus, auto and truck mounts, video Input, office docks and external battery chargers.

FieldBook offers its customers up to 5 hours thanks to the inclusion of dual 2500 mAh hot swappable batteries. It can be charged with wide range 10-30 VDC or a 115/230V AC adapter. Through the office dock and modular external battery charger, customers are offered additional RS232, LAN and USB ports as well as independent battery charger capability.

The latest Logic Instrument device is apt for maintenance, field computing and communication applications. This includes field maintenance, monitoring with geo-location, remote facility monitoring, interactive electronic technical manuals as well as military commend and control. The handheld computer is also ideal for public utility monitoring and maintenance, portable test, logistics, inventory control and emergency services data and position exchange.
