Amazon dishes out Kindle e-reader at $189

If price was the reason why some were shunning away from laying their hands on the Kindle e-reader, then this is news that they might want to refer to. Amazon is now offering its e-reader for a price lower than $200.

This device opens up a plethora of more than 6,00,000 books for readers. Apart from these, users can also access around 1.8 million out-of-copyright books pre-1923. The books are available without any monthly or annual contracts and users can also access about 109 out of the 112 books rated as best-sellers by the New York Times.

The gadget features the ability to provide comfortable reading even in bright conditions and weighs about 10.2 ounce. Apart from having topped the CR E-Book reader ratings, the 3G network capability of the device allows users to download a host of available books even while on the move.

The Kindle e-reader was earlier priced at $259 (approx. Rs. 11,970), but not any more. Amazon has sells the device for about $189 (approx. Rs. 8,730).
