Adventurous tourists or curious explorers may have always felt the need of navigation devices with large and clear visuals. Garmin has just released its new nuvi 2400 series of personal navigation products with outsized 5†displays. With enhanced facilities, these models offer optional function such as lifetime traffic and map updates, advanced route planning and calculation using nuRoute technology, and voice-activated navigation.
The nuvi 2450, 2460LT, 2450LM and 2460LMT offer detailed mapping coverage of U.S., Canada and Mexico, while the latter two models also include lifetime map updates. Compatible with traffic updates, the 2450 and 2450LM variants proffer a simple-to-use interface. On the other hand, the nuvi 2460LT and 2460LMT additionally encompass hands-free calling and voice activated navigation. Interestingly, users can make and receive phone calls by pairing up their Garmin device and compatible handset with Bluetooth connectivity.
“The nüvi 2400 series offers drivers some of the most sophisticated and sought-after features available on the market today. The large five-inch diagonal display is easy on the eyes, and options like voice activation, traffic alerts, and enhanced route calculation make traveling across town or cross-country easier than ever. And never before have these features been available at such an economical price,†stated Dan Bartel, Garmin’s vice president of worldwide sales.
All the nuvi 2400 devices come with nuRoute technology featuring trafficTrends and myTrends predictive routing. For customization, users can rate one- to five-star to any point of interest. Thus, when users’ device is connected to a myGarmin account, this rating is submitted to the community database. In this manner, the updated community will help other users benefit from the ratings.
The Garmin nuvi 2400 portfolio will be available in Q1 2011. The series is priced within the range of $249.99 (approx Rs. 11,295) to $349.99 (approx Rs. 15,800).
