Garmin Navigation 2011 Grand Cherokee
Garmin International, specializing in satellite navigation, presents its in-dash navigation technology for the 2011 Chrysler Grand Cherokee which is installed at the factory itself.

This navigation system from Garmin couples its affordable user-interface with Chrysler’s Uconnect radio. The outcome of this combination is visible on a 6.5 inch touchscreen display. The navigator system shows users a rich detailed Navteq map of North America with six million points of interest.

Cliff Pemble, Garmin’s president and chief operating officer stated, “Garmin is uniquely positioned to quickly bring the latest and greatest navigation technology to an in-dash environment – priced at a level that mainstream drivers can afford. Being a navigation provider for Chrysler is a significant and long sought-after achievement for our company. We look forward to collaborating with them on this exciting project.”

Cutting edge features are incorporated into the navigation systems from Garmin. This includes Lane Assistance where the navigator shows users which lane to turn into or exit. This helps customers get safely through unfamiliar surroundings and lanes. With Junction View, 3D road signs and junctions along the users’ route are shown on the display screen. Customers can also keep track of whether they are within the speed limits of a specific area thanks to the Speed Limit and Current Speed feature.

With the Where Am I? feature enabled in the navigation system, users can also get the exact latitude and longitude coordinates along with the nearest intersection and address. Hospitals, gas-refueling and police stations can also be located through this feature. The Garmin navigator even has the ability to voice out the street names. Drivers can personalize their navigation settings through Chrysler-specific icons.

The Garmin navigation system fitted into the 2011 Chrysler Grand Cherokee debuted at the New York Auto Show and is now available.
