GPS system with Integrated Camera Shows Clear View of Road

In-Car GPS system In-car GPS system is in great demand. But a novel idea has been developed into a upcoming device by TomTom. Now the owner can drive safely with this GPS system. It enables the driver to be sure where the car is heading. It gives a clear view of the road, turn, intersection, speed breaker or potholes and so on…

TomTom has filed a European patent describing a camera-based GPS navigation system, a smart image recognition system. The system displays onscreen data such as distance to the nearest turn, the current speed and the road ahead.

The patent was filed in December 05, changing people’s perceptions towards GPS system. It helps viewers’ access 3D map with a line showing where the road is. Since it is equipped with camera and sensor, therefore the navigation system is estimated to be considerably expensive.

It’s still unclear whether this technology will actually be launched or not. However, if this device is out in market, it will be a great help for the consumer to avoid accidents or unnatural calamities.

Let’s hope that TomTom’s camera-based GPS system turns into a reality and is accessible internationally.
