With the latest Hasbro zAPPed Gaming soon making its way into the market, users can expect some digitization in board gaming. This new concept has been incorporated in games like The Game Of Life, Monopoly and Battleship.

Claiming to bring a unique social twist to gaming, it features a board that comes to life when used in conjunction with the apps through an iOS device. The Game Of Life, has been refreshed with the inclusion of over 100 clips from America’s Funniest Videos, complete with animation. It requires the The Game OF Life zAPPed app that can be downloaded onto the iPad, which than acts as a virtual spinner. The app is available for free from the Apple App Store.

“Knowing that families are more attached than ever to their mobile devices, we wanted to revolutionize face-to-face gaming with our world famous brands and our proprietary technology to create a unique gaming experience,” quoted Eric Nyman, Global Brand Leader for Hasbro Gaming.

Another game is the Monopoly zAPPed that can be played through the iPad, iPhone or iPod touch. Besides featuring virtual Chance and Community Chest cards, this game’s application will create virtual accounts for every player that will work on a single tap of the accompanying bank cards. For the Battleship game, the iPad’s screen will act as the playing surface and the Apple slate will recognize the ship pawns and their movements.

The Game Of Life Hasbro Zapped Gaming is available through Amazon and ToysRUs.com for a price of $24.99 (approx. Rs. 1,230). It will hit Toys R Us retail store on February 17. Monopoly will be available in June and Battleship will debut in September this year.
