Sony announced the plans to launch a new 160GB Playstation 3 computer entertainment system in North America.The 160GB PS3 system packs in the hit game Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune in a limited edition. With the massive storage capacity you now download more games and store even more movies, television shows, videos, music and photos.

“As Playstation Network continues to evolve with our recently launched video delivery service and more exclusive games, PS3 owners are demanding more storage capacity,” said Jack Tretton, president and CEO, SCEA. “Consumers also are utilizing PS3 as an entertainment hub for their digital media, placing content such as their entire music collection on the hard drive. The 160GB PS3 system addresses this growing consumer demand in a compelling bundle that delivers significant value.”

The 160GB PS3 equips a Blu-ray Disc player, HDMI output, an integrated Wi-Fi connection and a Cell Broadband Engine.

It comes with the Pain Playstation Network Voucher, thus exploring the area of video-gaming. This unique comedy game lets the user load a character into a human-sized, ultra-powerful slingshot and fire the character into an active, physics-controlled environment with precarious and humorous situations. You can download PAIN from the Playstation Store to your PS3 system with the included voucher.

The DUALSHOCK 3 Wireless Controller offers an intuitive game play experience. Each action button includes pressure sensors. It also includes the highly sensitive SIXAXIS motion sensing technology.

The new 160 GB PS 3 will definitely benefit the users on the storage front. The Playstation Network and PS3 games with add-on content like Pain Amusement Park, Ratchet & Clank Future: Quest for Booty, SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Confrontation and The Last Guy will soon be available for download. Weighing about 11 lbs, it measures 12.75” (W) x 3.86” (H) x 10.8” (D).

The PS 3 will be launched in November for $499.99 (approx Rs.21,729).
