Palm OS and Windows Mobile Smartphones Support the New Platypus Mobile Game

Platypus Mobile Game

Platypus, a fast, frantic and side-scrolling arcade shooter mobile game, has entered the Palm OS, Windows Mobile smartphones and PDAs platform by Astraware and Idigicon. The interesting thing is that the game is made from clay.

The story rotates around the vast continent-spanning city of Collosatropolis, wherein tall buildings have covered every available space and gone beyond the limits of expansion. The solution for the same is to attack the neighboring country of Mungola, according to the Collosotropolan leaders. As Mungolans are the simple and earthy types without much love for industry, their entire defense force comprises of a single squadron of fighter planes – the venerable F-27 ‘Platypus’. Thus, struggle is far away from anticipation.

This is what players are expected to do. They have to play with a 5-way or stylus to pilot the faithful Platypus and save peaceful Mungola. In order to move on with the task, they have to fly across the squashy fields and trees.

Gamers are expected to stay away from the snowy mountains and protect the planet. They have to kill the enemy ships and marvel, enabling to collect fruit bonuses and a range of power-ups that would assist them to move further in the quest. The game features four massive worlds with a variety of challenging levels.

The Platypus mobile game is currently available for download on the Palm OS, Windows Mobile smartphones and PDAs. You need to pay $19.95 (approx. Rs. 800). The Platypus game that is compatible with Symbian S60 and UIQ is scheduled to release in Q2 of 2008.
