Xbox 360 Price Lowered by Microsoft

Price Cut in Xbox 360

After the price cut in Xbox 360 HD DVD player, Microsoft today announced that it will reduce the retail price of Xbox 360 by $50 (approximately 2,018.50 INR) beginning August 8 at all retail outlets across US. Following this, Electronic Arts Inc. (EA) is releasing its blockbuster video game titled Madden NFL 08 on August 14. This popular franchise was the top-selling game of 2006.

Mitch Koch, corporate vice president, Global Retail Sales and Marketing Group, Entertainment and Devices Division at Microsoft, issued the following statement in reference to the price drop: “The fact that we have been able to keep our launch price longer than any other console while retaining our leadership position demonstrates that consumers believe in the value of Xbox 360. On the eve of the best holiday games lineup ever (referring to the slashed price of the Xbox), and the launch of Madden NFL 08, there has never been a better time to jump into Xbox 360.”

Beginning August 8, Microsoft also plans to enhance the value of its family of consoles. At the new competitive price of $349.99 (approx 14,129.10 INR), Xbox 360 offers an unbeatable experience, with a 20 GB hard drive, Wireless Controller, Xbox 360 Headset, and more.
