We have seen the Samsung Microsoft SUR40 already, but it seems like it has ‘larger’ competition from the Ideum MT65 Presenter brought forth by a privately owned Mexico-based company. The size of the interactive screen is 65 inches, while the thickness of this device measures 4 inches.

The display is apparently capable of recognizing up to 32 touch gestures simultaneously, thus providing users with a large and intuitive interface. The LCD touchscreen displays content in full HD resolutions of 1920 x 1080p and employs flicker‐free FPR 3D imaging. It also uses an LED backlight rated for 50,000 hours. The system is physically secured with 3mm hardened tempered glass on the front and metal housing.

“We design integrated systems that are easy to install and maintain, and that are practically indestructible, even in busy public environments,” commented Jim Spadaccini, CEO of Ideum. “The MT65 Presenter is perfect for public spaces, it has a huge LCD display that’s over 2.5 times larger than Microsoft’s Surface 2.0. It is also more than three times faster than the Surface and can work in just about any lighting environment.”

The computer system inside it includes a 2.2GHz quad core Intel Core i7 2720QM processor along with 8GB of RAM. This is supported by 256GB storage, as well as a GeForce GTX 460 GPU. Externally, the panel also possesses an HD webcam with Carl Zeiss lenses and a stereo microphone. While the gadget operates with the 64-bit Windows 7 Professional OS, a Linux version is on its way and expected by March this year.

The Ideum MT65 Presenter price tag before shipping charges reads $17,450 (approx. Rs. 885,500). It can be ordered from the official Ideum website.
