Marshall Orchid OR-70-3D monitor equips lenticular hybrid technology

Marshall Orchid OR-70-3D Monitor

The Orchid OR-70-3D, said to be the first autostereoscopic 3D monitor, was recently launched by Marshall Electronics. Users do not need any sort of glasses to view three dimensional content via the device which also serves the purpose of a camera viewfinder and a portable 3D production display.

The latest monitor comes with parallax barrier and integrates the lenticular hybrid technology. It promises to deliver state-of-the-art 3D quality with a screen resolution of 1600 x 600. Enabling precision 3D calibration is the incorporated dual real-time Waveform and Vectorscope. This device also offers 3D analysis features like check box, difference, blending and compare.

Nathan Mordukhay, VP of Sales & Marketing said, “Marshall continues to support the growth and expansion of global 3D production. The OR-70-3D is now the most versatile and technologically advanced 3D monitoring solution available to filmmakers and content producers.”

Users do not need to employ an external converter as the monitor features integrated mux and independent loop-through. It is capable of providing support to large battery adapters and ¼-inch to 20-inch mounting for portability and convenience of use. This new device accommodates a horizontal marker that serves as a ruler for 3D depth control. Through the front panel rotary encoder, the position and space between lines can be altered.
Possessing the compare box feature for 3D calibration, the monitor’s onscreen tool compares a particular region of both channels with graphs for Y, R, G, and B via numeric display. The feature is believed to be useful for precision 3D camera alignment.

The Marshall Orchid OR-70-3D monitor will start shipping from October 1 and is priced at $7899 (approx. Rs. 3, 71,608).
