TouchMagix Media has just unveiled its new interactive MagixTable and MagixFone at a press event held today in Mumbai, India. With Dr. Raghunath Mashelkar and R. Balki as chief representatives, these two latest devices are released for the Indian subcontinent. Touted to be the world’s thinnest multi-touch interactive table, the MagixTable flaunts an enriched application suite with simple customization tools and 40 simultaneous touch points.

The company revealed its plans to build partnership with vertical content partners for development of third party applications on education, lifestyle or more. Multiple games are scheduled to be embedded into the MagixTable. TouchMagix will also collaborate with publishers for further advancements. Interestingly, the table’s preliminary size is 32”, while users can also choose to custom built according to their preferred sizes.

“My exposure to Silicon Valley has helped me find gaps in touch driven technologies currently present in the market. The MagixTable and the MagixFone have interactive applications that will make room for a new segment of marketing channels, to interact with the consumer,” stated Anup Tapadia, the founder of TouchMagix Media. “These products will create unforgettable experiences for its users which would lead its foray into the consumer segment. The use of this interactive technology has no boundaries. It is the next generation in the space of interactive media. Their uses are limitless.”

Believed to consume 60 percent lesser power, the MagixTable promises up and down to work well under high ambient light conditions. It renders 50fps scan rate and doesn’t require any calibration for the setup. Users can take advantage of the integrated Apple Mac Mini OS with 350GB HDD, 4GB RAM and Nvidia 9400M graphics. Apart from being TUIO compliant, the table also subsumes Max OS X and Windows 7 support. Plus, users needn’t worry about any connectivity woes as it features four USB 2.0 ports, FireWire 800 slot, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, 802.11 a/b/g/n Wi-Fi, and Gigabit Ethernet 10/100/1000 Base T.

R. Balki, affirmed, “As marketers, we are always on the lookout for innovative way to reach to the consumer. This product has the ability to interact and engage the consumer; there is so much you can do with this technology with its usage being endless in the use of medicines, restaurants, etc. It helps makes conversation with users more simplified and allows for customization through this technology.”

MagixFone

The MagixFone, on the other side, allows engagement of users with a display using their mobile phone. It has the capability to transform any digital signage into interactive signage. It can also receive several incoming calls by connecting numerous MagixFone devices to one CPU. Measuring 200mm x 120mm x 50mm, this fresh device supports USB interface and any GSM SIM card. Moreover, professionals can leverage their businesses through its XML API supporting interface with apps crafted in C, C++, Flash, OpenGL and Java.

The company disclosed the pricing details to folks at our end as Rs. 6,50,000 and Rs. 1,50,000 for MagixTable and MagixFone, respectively.
