Infibeam Pi eBook reader unmasked

Infibeam PiThe day is not yet over and here’s another eBook reader offering to join several others out in the market. Infibeam.com has devised what they claim to be India’s very first eBook reader dubbed ‘Pi’. This release comes after a series of launches by the company encompassing a unified product search and an eBooks store.

The 10mm slim device has a 6” e-ink display delivering an 8-level gray scale and glare-free reading. It proffers 512MB of internal memory and houses an SD card slot for memory expansions of up to 4GB. Most official Indian languages are supported by the device which permits transfer of documents from a PC to the eBook reader with a USB cable. It has features like bookmarking, horizontal and vertical views and allows users to select from four different font sizes for auto-scaling content to fit the screen. Moreover, users may also listen to music and play games such as Sudoku on the device.

The Pi eBook reader by Infibeam is bundled in with a microUSB 2.0 cable, AC adapter, quick start guide, earphones and sample eBooks. It may be pre-ordered for Rs.999 and will start shipping from February 22, 2010 at Rs.9,999. It comes backed by a year-long warranty.
