Barnes & Noble’s Nook Color now up for pre-order

Nook Color The Nook family from Barnes & Noble seems to have enticed users all over the world with its intuitive features. The company has now added a new touch reader’s tablet to this portfolio entitled Nook Color. The sleek device is said to be the manufacturer’s first full color tablet which displays digital books, magazines, newspapers and kids’ books in a thin profile.

Weighing less than a pound, the device is powered by Android OS and allows users to satiate their reading needs while on-the-fly. Sporting an amazing 7-inch VividView color touchscreen, it offers ample storage with 8GB space for conveniently saving all the digital content. Owners can also access the Internet to search for digital books through its built-in Wi-Fi capabilities. Social butterflies can share their favorite titles with their friends via Facebook, Twitter and e-mail using the Nook Friends technology.

The newly enhanced Nook Book store houses over two million titles of different genres to serve the requirements of all users. The Nook Kids experience empowers parents to augment their children’s storytime reading experience by accessing nearly 12,000 chapter books. It simply interacts with users through words and pictures using the AliveTouch technology. Apart from this, the Nook Newsstand allows users to read news periodicals for up-to-date information.

Users needn’t purchase many e-Books since the Nook Color comes with LendMe app which enables sharing of content with friends and family. The entire digital library can be organized in a fashion which is manageable and effortless to use. The compact device tips the scale at 15.8 ounces and is cited to comfortably fit in users’ handbag or purse. Rendering multimedia facilities, it ensures an exceptional entertainment experience while on the move.

The Nook Color is up for pre-order through Barnes & Noble’s official website for $249 (approx Rs. 11,455) and it will start shipping beginning November 19.
