Optoma starts shipping GameTime projectors

Optoma Projector Optoma has declared the shipping of its GameTime projectors which are said to be the company’s first projectors designed from the ground up for dedicated gaming enthusiasts and home entertainment. Announced at CES this year, the line-up includes GT720, GT360, and GT700, reveals About Projectors.

Both GT360 and GT720 come with features that optimally serve the needs of gamers and also sports enthusiasts and movie buffs. These projectors employ a short-throw lens for creating large images in smaller rooms while 2500 lumens on combining with 3000:1 contrast ratio helps deliver crisp and realistic images.

“Gamers love to feel totally immersed in their games, and the bigger the picture the more ‘in the game’ they feel,” said Jon Grodem, Optoma’s senior director of product and marketing. “These GameTime projectors are designed for flawless performance with today’s top HD consoles and Gaming PCs, and enhance games with stunning speed, high contrast and vivid colors.”

The GT360 is said to be optimally designed for Nintendo Wii, delivering 800 x 600 pixels (SVGA) resolution and also offers compatibility with PC and Mac. On the other hand, the GT720 offers a native widescreen WXGA (1280 x 800 pixels) resolution, maximizing widescreen attributes for gaming consoles like Xbox and Sony PlayStation. It is also compatible with both PC and Mac.

The newly added GT700 has been designed for Xbox and Sony PlayStation, for those wanting widescreen format and higher resolution at a lower price. The GT700 provides WXGA resolution alongside similar features and connectivity as the GT720, at 2300 lumens and 2500:1 contrast ratio.

The accessories for all three projectors include a remote and a special backpack. The GT360 will come at an end-user price of $599 (approx Rs. 26,505), the GT700 at $749 (approx Rs. 33,143) and GT720 at $799 (approx Rs. 35,355).
