Readers might want to flash a smile for Casio’s latest offering – the company is out with a Digital Art Frame. Apart from functioning as a digital photo frame that also works as an alarm clock, media player and so on, the device implements image recognition and image processing technologies to add a touch of vibrancy to photographs.

The frame has a 10.2” WSVGA color LCD, USB input-output terminal, stereo speakers and SD card slot. This 1.03” x 8.19” x 1.18” and 2.75lbs light device offer IEEE802.11b/g connectivity, 2GB onboard memory as also automatic display on/off and power on/off. Incorporated technologies consist of Dynamic Photo and Adobe Flash Lite playback.

“We are excited to announce yet another innovative product with unparalleled features distinctive to Casio,” trilled Toshiharu Okimuro, Chairman of Casio America. “The Digital Art Frame adds personalization and artistic integrity to your conventional digital photo frame.”

The company’s facial recognition technology aids create works of art that highlights facial features of subjects within the photo. Eight different styles of art called Gothic Oil Painting, and Fauvist Oil Painting, Water Color Painting, Color Pencil Sketch, Pastel Painting, Pointillism, Air Brush, and Oil Painting are supplied.

Casio’s newest offering is JPEG, BMP, PNG, RAW, motion JPEG, MP3 and WAV compatible. Its primary functions comprise of automatic recognition of height and width, rotation, zoom, clock, calendar, alarm, picture alteration, slideshow, Dynamic Photo and index display.

Casio’s Digital Art Frame will be out by the spring of 2010.
