Not so long ago NEC was spotted expanding its E Series with E461 and E551 LCD models. Now, the company has added a new LED-backlit LCD monitor to its MultiSync E Series, the 23-inch E231W. This affordable display enhances desktop computing experience and increases productivity for users.
The E231W enables a widescreen display experience to its users and allows them to open several applications simultaneously. The 23-inch 16:9 W-LED backlit panel display is EPEAT Gold rated and displays a 1920 x 1280 Full HD resolution. Sharp and clear pictures can be viewed on the device as it renders a 25,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio and its fully-ergonomic design lets users adjust height up to 110mm in addition to tilt, swivel and pivot adjustments for augmented comfort and convenience.

On the connectivity front, the MultiSync E231W includes DisplayPort, VGA and DVI inputs. This device is embedded with Multi-directional OSD NaViKey which permits users easy usage and navigation. Compatible with Windows 7, Windows Vista Premium, and Windows XP, the display gives users the freedom to choose their own operating system. NaViSet Administrator software for centralized control has also been bundled in.
This eco-friendly E series display employs Eco Mode which cuts down power consumption and heat generation while a built-in ambient light sensor detects external light sources and accordingly adjusts its brightness. The device has carbon footprint meter which helps users track their carbon footprint saving by calculating the reduction of green gas emissions.
The Intelligent Power Manager conserves energy and reduces carbon dioxide emissions when the monitor is on but not being used. In such a situation, the device switches to a low power state or mechanically powers down. The E231W boasts of Energy Star 5.0 compliance and TCO 5.0 compliance plus comes with a 3-year parts and labor limited warranty.
The MultiSync E231W is anticipated to be available this month for $299 (approx Rs. 13,800).
