Samsung displays 3D enabled AMOLED TV prototype at FPD 09

Samsung 3D TV Prototype

Just recently we reported that Samsung is gearing up to launch a Needle Slim LED TV. And now Samsung is back with a new prototype for a TV that will be displayed at the FPD this year. According to Gizmodo, this prototype is a 3D enabled, 30-inch AMOLED TV.

This AMOLED TV features a 240Hz, full high definition panel that measures only 2.5mm in thickness. The prototype boasts of its milllion:1 contrast ratio. The company also claims that this TV incorporates its latest shutter-glasses technology. This technology is said to reduce the dizziness that is often associated with 3D enabled devices. This technology is supposedly called the Crosstalk technology.

Apparently, the TV also incorporates Samsung’s patented Simultaneous Emission with Active Voltage (SEAV) technology. Users will still need to use the special 3D glasses with this prototype TV.

Samsung is planning to display this 3D enabled 30-inch AMOLED TV prototype at the FPD 2009. There is no official word as to when this prototype will be put into mass production. But this technology is bound to be released with a luxurious price tag.
