Eizo FlexScan EV2023W and EV2023W monitors with EPEAT Gold

Eizo Flexscan EV2023W And EV2023W Eizo has announced the launch of its 20-inch FlexScan EV2023W and 23-inch FlexScan EV2303W which are said to be among the first products to receive the TCO Display 5.0 Certification. They are the first Eizo devices to feature the EPEAT Gold status.

The company states that the two newly launched products are the brand new addition to Eizo’s EcoView product line. These new monitors are said to be ecological, ergonomic and energy-efficient. They bundle up energy saving motion sensor which activates the screen only when a user is present, slim cabinet and two new ergonomic stands.

“We have actively participated in the TCO labeling system for monitors since its inception in 1992 so we are delighted that the EV2303W and the EV2023W are two of the first products to receive TCO 5.0 Displays certification,” said Minoru Kontani, senior manager of Eizo’s Overseas Sales & Marketing Department. “With both TCO 5.0 Displays and EPEAT Gold certification, these are sure to be two of the most eco- and user-friendly monitors available.”

The TCO is said to be the most widely recognized certification system. The new TCO Display 5.0 guidelines display revised conditions for energy efficiency. The certification also states that the monitor should comply with the Energy Star 4.0 that is manufacturer declaration of hazardous substances and improved monitor and packing recyclability.

The FlexScan EV2023W features 1600 x 900 native resolution, 178 degree viewing angles and 3000:1 contrast ratio. The FlexScan EV2303 features a TN panel with 1920 x 1080 resolution, 160 degree viewing angles and 1000:1 contrast ratio. Both the monitors come with 250 cd/m2 brightness, D-Sub (analog) and DVI-D (digital) input.

Eizo plans to introduce compact and lightweight designs for its EcoView series. The company has reduced the number of components within its main body. This has not only made the monitors lighter and compact but also allows the company to ship them with less packaging.

Eizo’s new improved EcoView Sense technology is said to save power by indicating the monitor to switch to power save mode when no user is present for more than 40 seconds. The monitor resumes normal operation mode as and when the user returns. The improved intelligent technology used in these monitors has the capability to differentiate between animate and inanimate objects and so it switches to power save mode even if it detects the backrest of a chair.

The EcoView sensor also measures the surrounding light and adjusts the brightness of the screen to the best level. The FlexScan EV2023W and FlexScan EV2303W claim to consume only 25 watts and 18 watts of energy respectively. When the monitors are switched off using the main power switch they don’t consume any electricity.

The Eizo’s EcoView Net software is said to further reduce the electricity consumption by giving the user the power to centrally control around 2000 EcoView monitors on a network.

The Eizo’s FlexScan monitors are available with two newly designed ergonomic stands- the FlexStand and the TriStand. These stands offer tilt, swivel and height adjustment at 225mm along with portrait rotation and quick release which allows the monitor to be quickly removed from the stand for reconfiguration. The monitors feature a 0.45 watts internal speaker and confirm to Eizo’s environmental label-Eizo Eco Products 2009.

The FlexScan EV2023W and EV2023W monitors which are available with five years manufacture warranty are now being shipped but the dates may vary according to the country.
