Sharp Japan announces the release of its new AQUOS A-series LCD HDTVs, according to Electronista. This new A-Series range consists of a 40-inch LC-40AE6, 46-inch LC-46AE6 and 52-inch LC-52AE6.

The A Series HDTVs offer 1920×1080 resolution, 120Hz speed panels, a 15,000:1 contrast ratio and 450cd/m2 brightness. The company claims that the 52-inch HDTV will util8ize about 175kW/h in a year while 46-inch and 40-inch HDTVs will use about 145kW/h and 120kW/h respectively.

This achieved by automatic backlight adjustment feature that adjusts depending upon the ambient light levels and also incorporates an auto power-off function.

These HDTVs also feature three HDMI inputs, a pair of D4 ports, S-video connection, three composite inputs, VGA input, monitor output, optical audio input and are integrated with digital and terrestrial tuners.

The 40-inch HDTV is said to be priced at $2,070 and will be available in Japan from April 10. The 46-inch and 52-inch HDTVs are priced at $2,690 and $4,030 respectively while they are expected to release on May 15.
