Sharp Aquos LCD TV lineup, LED models

Sharp Aquos LCD TVs Sharp has introduced the latest Aquos LCD TVs along with various models featuring LED backlighting. These Aquos TVs are Sharp’s latest addition to the E77 series and are dubbed LC-65E77UM and LC-60E77UN.

The LC-65E77UM is a 65-inch display whereas the LC-60E77UN is a 60-inch display. Both these models come equipped with 1080p resolution and Advanced Super View technology. The Advanced Super View technology is designed to minimize the haze and reflectivity of the TVs. These E77 series TVs support a response time of 4ms and 120Hz frame-rate conversion.

“With the increasing adoption of flat-panel display TVs, consumers expect larger screen sizes with advanced performance at a good value. The addition of the 65-inch class E77 series LCD TV and introduction of a new screen size class at 60 inches enables more consumers to bring home large-screen TVs,” said Bob Scaglione, senior vice president and group manager, Product and Marketing Group, Sharp Electronics Corporation.

The backlit versions of the TVs are a part of the Aquos LE700 series. The series includes 52-inch LC-52LE700UN, 46-inch LC-46LE700UN, 40-inch LC-40E700UN and 32-inch LC-32LE700UN. These TVs integrate Sharp’s LCD technology and a full-array of backlighting. These TVs also feature a 120Hz frame-rate conversion and a response time of 4ms. The other specifications of the series include 1080p X-Gen panels, 10-bit processing, dynamic contrast ration up to 20,00,000:1 and 176 degree viewing angle.

Sharp is able to deliver a price-competitive yet high-performance product by producing many of the key components of the TV, including the LED components and the LCD panel.”

The LE700 series are designed to portray efficiency. The 52-inch LC-52LE700UN consumes around 105 watts of energy which is approximately 68 percent less than the Energy star 3.0 specifications. The LED technology used in these TVs is mercury free and is said to extend the life of the TVs by approximately 1,00,000 hours.

The 65-inch E77 LCD TV is expected to start shipping in September and will be priced at $4500 (approx. Rs.2,19,778), while the 60-inch LC-60E77UN will be available for a price of $3500 (approx. Rs.1,70,938). The 52-inch LE700 will be available later this month for $2,800 (approx. Rs.1,36,750) and the 45-inch model will cost $2,200 (approx. Rs.1,07,435). The smaller 40-inch TV is expected to be priced at $1,700 (approx. Rs.83,013), while the 32-inch TV can be purchased for $1,100 (approx. Rs.53,718).
