Combining highest level of picture performance and sound quality into the ultra-slim and stylish form factor, Philips has presented the latest modern designed TV – Essence. Also termed as 42PES0001, the Philips Essence flaunts cutting-edge HD technology, Philips’ powerful Perfect Pixel HD Engine to deliver stunning images at 500 million pixels per second.
In order to set a new standard for image sharpness, contrast, color and motion, the Essence is capable of 2,250 trillion colors processing in full 1080p resolution and features 100Hz Clear LCD technology, a 2 milliseconds response rate, and the Perfect Natural Motion for smooth judder-free images viewing. It has a Perfect Contrast function that makes use of content adaptive backlighting control to maintain the true and deep black levels.
Three HDMI 1.3a+ EasyLink inputs are also available to deliver a crystal clear digital signal. With the help of a DLNA PC network link, you can easily browse PC and home network content.

With a depth of just 38mm the Essence is lightweight, slim line and is easy to hang on a single hook. At just 38 mm thinnest, the 42-inch screen also comes with an ultra-thin bezel width of only 21mm and a dedicated 2x15w sound bar. Shining in the glossy black polished aluminum frame, the Essence 42PES0001 can be mounted on the wall from a single hook or used it as a table-top. It also bundles a separate connectivity hub and a remote control.
