Sony to join Hands with Sharp over LCD Panels

Sony and Sharp logos The LCD TV market is booming these days. That could be the reason why Sony is apparently unable to meet consumer demands. According to the latest news, Sony is going to buy LCD TV panels from Sharp to meet with the rising consumer demand.

Currently Sony is in a joint-venture with Samsung. It’s new venture with Sharp is expected to begin in April.

Sharp will be able to help Sony to cope up with the increasing demands of consumers as Sharp is working on the largest LCD panel factory in the world. Moreover Sharp is expected to boost Sony’s LCD output capacity by as much as 50 percent.

With the new agreement Sony is hoping to make sales of 20 million LCD TVs beginning by April 2008, which is almost double than what it sells now.
