Apple launches its redefined MacBook family and 24″ LED Cinema Display in India

Recently we had reported about the redefined Apple MacBook family and its 24-inch LED Cinema Display. Well, Apple launches its all new MacBook family that redefines notebook design including Macbook, MacBook Pro and MacBook Air as well as the new 24-inch LED Cinema Display in India.

The new 24-inch glossy LED-backlit widescreen display with 1920 x 1200 resolution features an in-built iSight video camera, mic and speakers enclosed in a thin aluminum and glass enclosure. It has been specifically designed for the new MacBook family and includes an integrated MagSafe charger, three USB 2.0 ports and Mini DisplayPort. This mercury-free and arsenic-free display comes with a aluminum stand and an adjustable hinge. The new LED Cinema Display is expected for a maximum retail price of Rs. 60,900 and will be available in November.

Apple’s all new MacBook family redefines notebook design as well as lowers the entry price for advanced notebook features. The new MacBook, 15-inch MacBook Pro and 17-inch MacBook Pro are now shipping while the new MacBook Air will be available in November through Apple Authorised Resellers. Well, an updated 13-inch white MacBook featuring 2.1 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processors, a 120GB 5400 rpm hard drive and a slot-load 8X SuperDrive is now available for Rs.61,800. The new MacBook and 15-inch MacBook Pro have a unibody enclosure that has been crafted from a single block of aluminum, thus offering a thinner, more durable and amazing designs.

MacBook Family Redefined

The new 2.0 GHz, 13-inch aluminum MacBook equips a 2.0 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with 3MB shared L2 cache, 160GB serial ATA hard drive running at 5400 rpm, with Sudden Motion Sensor and is expected at a maximum retail price of Rs.79,700 while the 2.4 GHz aluminum MacBook with 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with 3MB shared L2 cache, 250GB serial ATA hard drive running at 5400 rpm, with Sudden Motion Sensor and an illuminated keyboard for a maximum retail price of Rs.96,500. Both these MacBook laptops have several common features like 13.3-inch widescreen LED-backlit 1280 x 800 glossy display, 1066 MHz front-side bus, 2GB 1066 MHz DDR3 SDRAM, NVIDIA GeForce 9400M integrated graphics, a slot-load 8X SuperDrive with double-layer support (DVD±R DL/DVD±RW/CD-RW) optical drive, Mini DisplayPort for video output (adapters sold separately), built-in AirPort Extreme 802.11n wireless networking and Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, Gigabit Ethernet port, built-in iSight video camera, two USB 2.0 ports, one audio line in and one audio line out port, each supporting both optical digital and analog, glass Multi-Touch trackpad and 60 Watt MagSafe Power Adapter.

The new super-slim and light MacBookAir is available in two models one with a 1.6 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with 6MB shared L2 cache and 2GB 1066 MHz DDR3 SDRAM which is expected at a maximum retail price of Rs.1,07,000. While the other equips a 1.86 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with 6MB shared L2 cache, 128GB solid state drive and carries a maximum retail price of Rs.1,62,600. Their common features are 13.3-inch widescreen LED-backlit with high resolution 1280 x 800 glossy display, 1066 MHz front-side bus, NVIDIA GeForce 9400M integrated graphics, 120GB serial ATA hard drive running at 4200 rpm, with Sudden Motion Sensor, Mini DisplayPort for video output (adapters sold separately), built-in AirPort Extreme 802.11n wireless networking and Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, built-in iSight video camera, one USB 2.0 port, one headphone port, Multi-Touch trackpad and illuminated keyboard and 45 Watt MagSafe Power Adapter.

The new MacBook Pro includes three new models. The 2.4 GHz, 15-inch aluminum MacBook Pro with 2GB 1066 MHz DDR3 SDRAM, 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with 3MB shared L2 cache and 250GB serial ATA hard drive running at 5400 rpm, with Sudden Motion Sensor is expected at a maximum retail price of Rs.1,19,600. While the 2.53 GHz aluminum MacBook Pro with 2.53 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with 6MB shared L2 cache, 4GB 1066 MHz DDR3 SDRAM, 320GB serial ATA hard drive running at 5400 rpm, with Sudden Motion Sensor come for a maximum retail price of RS.1,49,000.
