Vuzix AV230XL and AV310 Widescreen Video Headsets Announced for iPod and iPhone

Vuzix AV230XL and AV310 Headset

Vuzix, known for producing personal video iWear, launches two new video headsets, called the AV230XL and AV310, in the European market for Christmas season.

Incorporating ground-breaking technology, both the widescreen headsets need to worn as glasses. They flaunt TV Out capability and compatibility with Apple iPhone and iPod range, MP4 players, games consoles and mobile phones Nokia, Sony Ericsson, LG, Samsung and HTC. Users can watch ‘cinema sized’ video from YouTube, BBC iPlayer or other on-demand TV channels on the screen of the headsets through internet connectivity.

Touted to be the first video headset to feature the full 16:9 widescreen aspect ratio, the AV310 sports a screen size equivalent to 52-inch that can be viewed from 9 feet, Stereo 3D support and 5 hours battery life on one AA battery.

The AV230XL features a screen size equivalent to 44-inch with OLED (organic LED) screen technology that boasts to deliver extremely bright, high contrast display. Users can view the video from 9 feet distance for 7 hours on a AA battery.
