Silicon Mountain Holdings announces new 32-inch and 42-inch Allio HD LCD TV featuring an integrated PC and Blu-Ray/DVD player. Allio HDTV is a blend of entertainment, instant on-demand information and productivity. It is now available and you can order it from Visionman website. Silicon Mountain claims to be the first ever company to develop a converged HDTV / PC which includes Blu-Ray.

The 42” LCD is the flagship Allio model that packs in combo Blu-Ray/DVD player, integrated digital recorder for PVR, powerful PC, Intel Core2Duo E8400 processor, 4GB of RAM, 1TB hard drive and 64-bit version of Windows Vista Home Premium. Apart from analog and digital audio-video inputs, it also comes with wireless and wired networking capabilities and several USB ports.

You can now stream and access high definition content from Joost, Hulu and TidalTV on the TV. Combine, share and play media libraries from a single device. The Allio HD TV / PC also lets you store iTunes and DVD collections on a single system.

Multiple sources of content can operate on its single large screen, thanks to picture-in-picture and split-screen capabilities. You can watch Blu-Ray or DVD in one window while television can be viewed in another. The split-screen feature offers numerous functions.

The systems come at a starting price of $1,599.99 (approx Rs. 75,900). The Allio HD TV / PC is available in six configurations. The entry-level 32″ and 42″ Allio retails for $1,599 (approx Rs. 75,853) and $1,999 (approx Rs. 94,807) respectively. It equips an Intel 2.5 GHz PDC E5200, 250GB of storage, 2GB of RAM, DVD/CD support and Vista Home Premium.

The mid-range 32″ and 42″ Allio adds upgraded 2.54 GHz Core2Duo E7200 processor, PVR and Blu-Ray support, priced at $2,199 (approx Rs. 1,04,287) and $2,399 (approx Rs. 113,772). The flagship Allio system comes with an upgraded RAM and storage to 4GB and 1TB, respectively. The 32” and 42” models are priced at $2,399 (approx Rs. 113,772) and $2,799 (approx Rs. 132,742) respectively. Silicon Mountain also plans to launch configurations based on Ubuntu Linux OS for a low-cost solution.
