NEC VT800 LCD Projector Unveiled

NEC VT800 Projector NEC has launched its new LCD plasma displays and projectors, dubbed the VT800. This digital network-ready projector is best for education and corporate settings and enhances NEC’s VT projector series.

It provides closed captioning for decoding and displaying text in videos, a complete input/output panel with built-in A/V switching, network functions such as remote diagnostics, which has the ability to allow scrutinizing and managing the projector over a network, as well as Image Express Utility that allows sending data and video over a network.

According to Bob Guentner, Product Manager for NEC Display Solutions, “The VT800 projector offers features necessary to educators and corporate users. This extremely bright portable projector captures audience attention in classrooms and meeting rooms, and can be easily managed over the network, saving the IT department time and money.”

The VT800 comes with image-enhancing features such as HQT (Hollywood Quality Video) technology, Advanced AccuBlend to deliver detailed images while utilizing non-native resolution sources along with an automatic keystone correction, which can immediately correct the vertical distortions when the projector is set up at an angle to the screen.

Besides, it also sports 2,700 lumens, XGA native resolution of 1024 x 768, contrast ratio of 500:1, up to 3,000 hours of lamp life, 5-watt speaker, ECO Mode technology to decrease energy consumption and improve lamp life by up to 50 percent, and PIP/ESS for picture-in-picture or side-by-side image configurations.

Built-in wall color correction presets for adaptive color tone correction to display properly on non-white surfaces, 3D Reform that squares the image by adjusting horizontally, vertically or diagonally when the projector cannot be placed parallel or perpendicular to the screen are also included into the device.

NEC VT800 is slated to roll out in April 2008 for $999 (approx. Rs. 40,000) with standard two-year limited warranty and one-year/500-hour lamp warranty.
