NEC LCD Technologies in partnership with NEC Electronics America, Inc has announced to launch samples of a new 4.1-inch (10.6 cm-diagonal), thin-film transistor (TFT) liquid crystal display (LCD) module called NL8048HL11-01B.
The new module from NEC features wide video graphics array (WVGA) resolution producing high-quality pictures. The LCDs achieve clarity with a high pixel density of approximately 227 pixels per inch (ppi).
“As applications for LCD modules have proliferated, the demand for high picture quality in small-size LCD modules has also increased,” said Masaaki Hiroshima, Product Planning Department Manager, NEC LCD Technologies.
“Based on our proprietary value-integrated TFT (VIT) LCD technology – one of our four core technologies — the new 4.1-inch module meets this requirement by achieving industry-leading levels of reproduction quality, pixel density, luminance, and color,” added Hiroshima.
Apart from 4.1-inch (10.4 cm diagonal) LCD, NEC has also launched 4.3-inch (11 cm diagonal) named NL4827HC19-05B. Both the LCD samples will be available in the US next month.
