Pioneer Offers 8th Gen HDTVs with 20,000:1 Ratio

There was a time when most of the people had SDTVs (Standard Definition Televisions) and only a select few had HDTVs (High Definition Televisions). Now it is vice versa and Pioneer has decided to jump in the bandwagon by announcing the Project Kuro line of high quality flat screens.

Pioneer Project Kuro HDTV

These HDTVs will have screens that boast up to 20,000:1 contrast ratio and black levels that are 80% deeper than before. And yes, the 20,000:1 contrast ratio will be the real one and not like the Dynamic contrast that some on the high-def TVs offer. The Project Kuro line of HDTVs will comprise of 10 different models, with resolution ranges from 720p at 16,000:1 all the way up to 1080p at 20,000:1.
