Sony Inc. expanded its PC accessories range category with MRW62E S1/171 a 17-in-1 external card reader.
The MRW62E S1/171 is a multi card reader which reads 17 types of storage cards including Sony’s Memory Stick range, SD and xD-Picture Card.
Besides, the card reader also reads Drive Letter recognition software to identify different card formats when transferring data. The Drive Letter recognition software displays a picture of the type of media instead of usual removable disk icons that appear in Microsoft Windows when an external storage device is connected the software.
The Sony multi-card reader is compatible with Microsoft Windows Vista and has a USB 2.0 connection for driver-less, plug and play operation and optimum data transfer of digital photos, music and data.
The card reader supports most common media cards such as: Memory Stick, Memory Stick Duo, Memory Stick PRO, Memory Stick PRO Duo, MagicGate Memory Stick, Memory Stick Micro, CompactFlash, Microdrive, SmartMedia, xD-Picture Card, SD Memory Card, SDHC, miniSD Card, MultiMediaCard and RS-MMC.
The Sony MRW62E-S1/171 will be available from June 2007 in the U.S. market.
Is the MRW62E-S1 multi-card reader compatible with windows 98se ?

My new Compaq CQ50-110US running Vista Home Premium does not recognize the Sony MRW62E/181 17:1 USB Reader/Writer. Is there a driver that I need to be able to use this device?
