LG Cinema 3D TV glasses to arrive next year

 LG Cinema 3D TV Glasses

Gearing up for their arrival in the first quarter of 2012, the LG Cinema 3D TV glasses are neither ugly nor uncomfortable, according to the company. Besides the F360, designed by Alain Mikli, the collection of glasses is inclusive of the F310 and the clip-on F320 variants.

With a view to augment the Cinema 3D viewing experience, the F310 variant sports a distinguished curve design to comfortably fit the wearer. The slim pair of glasses sport soft lines on its chassis. And at 13.5 grams, it is lighter than the company’s previous offerings in this segment. Next up is the F320, created especially for 3DTVs deployed with Film Patterned Retarder (FPR) technology. These clip-on glasses weigh around 5.5 grams.

“Compared to active shutter glasses, LG’s 3D glasses are far more comfortable to wear and much more affordable, making it possible for large groups and entire families to watch 3D programs and movies together. LG is addressing two of the biggest barriers to 3D acceptance head-on and we’re confident consumers will react favorably to our strategy in the coming year,” stated Havis Kwon, President and CEO of the LG Home Entertainment Company.

The sporty F360 fashioned by Alain Mikli, dons curved glasses and is big enough to cover the user’s face to promise an even more immersive experience. These glasses with a half-rim frame design, tip the scale at 16 grams. Along with the Cinema 3DTVs, these LG offerings can also be used to enjoy movies in theaters as the latter also employ FPR and RealD technologies.

The LG Cinema 3D TV glasses’ price and availability details have not been disclosed. They are slated to be made available early next year.
