Nike, known for its sports apparel, has introduced its new footwear that supports the next generation iPod Nano, named the Nike plus iPod sport kit in Indian market. Aimed at runners, the product allows them to listen to music and even calculate the personal fitness while running.
The kit includes running shoes with sensor and a receiver attached to the iPod nano model. This sport kit is a wireless system that has the ability to connect to the Apple iPod Nano when the user is on the process of workout.
Users need to attach the transmitter to the shoes that sensors the speed, distance and calories lost. This information is then received on the iPod Nano’s screen at the end of the workout. Users can also get the information in a real-time audible format through the headphone of the iPod Nano.
2003 World Championship bronze medallist Anju Bobby George and Cricketer Dinesh Kaarthick together launched the Nokia + iPod sport kit in India.
The entire Nike plus iPod sport kit carries a price tag of Rs. 16,000 and will be available at select Nike and Apple stores nationwide.
