Celkon Octa 510 makes its debut in India for Rs 8990 with octa core chipset

The Indian smartphone market has welcomed the Celkon Octa 510 as the latest entrant and the handset has already been made available for sale. The phone is priced at Rs 8990 and it falls in the mid-range, but the company has only listed it online and now officially revealed its existence.

Nevertheless, that’s the best the Celkon Octa 510 is going to get where a formal launch is concerned. As is evident from the name, the handset offers octa core performance and seeing its retail tag, it’ll compete with Lenovo’s upcoming A6000 LTE handset, Micromax’s Yu Yureka which goes on sale tomorrow and Xiaomi’s Redmi Note.

The Celkon handset is powered by a 1.4GHz octa core MediaTek processor based on the Cortex A7 and not the commonly found 1.7GHz one. Well, you won’t notice much of a difference in performance. And there’s Android 4.4 KitKat available out of the box as well, which offers a smooth experience even on low-end devices.
