GammaTech RT10C rugged tablet released

Standing a class apart from the standard sleek and somewhat delicate slates is the freshly unveiled GammaTech RT10C tablet which has specially been developed for the worker force. Built for harsh environments, it is said to be apt for those involved in the industrial and construction fields who need to work on rugged devices.
Operating on an Intel Core i7-620UE processor, the GammaTech RT10C boasts of a 10.2-inch WSVGA 1024 x 600p TFT LCD touchscreen display. Ubergizmo reports that it meets the Military 810G standards and has been rated IP65 for offering protection against dust and water.
The newly disclosed tablet runs on a Windows Embedded Standard 2009 OS and is capable of lending support to a variety of connectivity options such as Gigabit Ethernet (10/100/1000Mpbs), WLAN 802.11 b/g and Bluetooth 2.0 EDR Class 1 Module. It comes equipped with Fingerprint Recognition technology and an optional TPM1.2 smart card reader, both of which provide security.

This drop-, spill-, shock-, dust- and water-resistant mobile device is equipped with 2 USB 2.0 ports, 2 mini card slots and a CompactFlash slot for expanding memory. Incorporated with 2GB of RAM, it features an in-built microphone as well as an internal speaker. The durable slate is powered by a 7,800mAh 3S3P Smart 9cells battery which offers a running time of 5 hours. Moreover, it can optimally function in extreme temperatures ranging from -20 degree Celsius to 60 degree Celsius.
