HP TouchPad still available at Best Buy, sale starting November 1

HP TouchPad

For those who were left sighing after HP announced the discontinuation of webOS devices, Best Buy is offering yet another chance to lay hands on the HP TouchPad tablet. It might probably be the last chance to grab this slab as the device is officially out of stock on HP inventory list.

Back in August, some retailers has slashed the prices of the TouchPad, offering the 16GB version of this gadget at $99.99 (approx. Rs. 4,860), and the 32GB one was made available at $149.99 (approx. Rs. 7,291). In spite of this, the response didn’t seem encouraging enough to continue producing the slate and the company decided to put a halt to the manufacturing of the TouchPad as well as other webOS devices.

Following this decision, HP did launch an update or two for their tablet to ensure users do not feel neglected. Which was a mighty good move considering the number of TouchPads that were snapped up owing to the dropped price tags. And there was some stumbling around at one point of time when the company hinted at one last run of production in spite of planning to keep its hands clean of manufacturing webOS hardware.

Users who still have some hopes about this or for some other reason are keen on owning a TouchPad, Best Buy has now put up the 32GB version as a part of an offer. Consumers who purchase any HP or Compaq laptop, desktop or AIO computer can lay hands on this one for the price which was last quoted by the company.

The sale of this gadget will begin on November 1 via the Best Buy website. Its retail outlets will start carrying the device from November 4. The HP TouchPad will be available for a price of $149.99 (approx. Rs. 7,291).
